Thinsulate™
What is Thinsulate lining?
Thinsulate is brand of synthetic fiber thermal insulation and the purpose is to keep the clothes warm by retaining the heat that the body produces. In this article we are going to talk a little bit about the benefits that it provides for your clothes.
The material is made by the 3M Corporation and was first sold in 1979.
What is the purpose of Thinsulate lining?
That reason is to keep us warm during the coldest days, but it also comes with the benefit of providing that warmth without having to add bulk. This has turned it into one of the most popular inventions to be implemented in clothing for the winter.
The Science
The unique microfibers or fine fibers that make up Thinsulate insulation work by trapping air molecules between you and the outside. The more air a material traps in a given space the better it insulates you from the cold outside air. Because the fibers in Thinsulate insulation are finer than the fibers used in most other synthetic or natural insulation's they trap more air in less space which naturally makes Thinsulate insulation a better insulator. So 3M haven't repealed the laws of nature with thin insulation; they have simply improved them to help keep you warm.
We are selling plenty of items here at LeatherCult that have options to add Thinsulate insulation in the lining , checkout in the product pages.
